Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Sideline NIL LLC ("Sideline," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Sideline mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address, password, and account type (student-athlete or business). Athletes sign up with a school (.edu) email address.
• Profile information. Information you choose to add: profile photo, school, sport, position, bio, interests, social media handles and follower ranges (athletes); business name, logo, website, description, and location (businesses).
• Deal and contract information. Deals you post or apply to, applications, ratings, and the NIL contracts generated when a deal is accepted, including electronic signatures (your full profile name) and timestamps.
• Messages. Messages you send through the app's deal chat.
• Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Businesses' payment card details and athletes' payout bank details are provided directly to Stripe — we never see or store full card or bank numbers. We store deal amounts and payment status (for example, whether escrow has been funded or released).
• Support messages. Messages you send to our support inbox.

How we use information

• To operate the Service: create accounts, display profiles to deal counterparties, run the deal flow, generate contracts, deliver messages, and process payments through Stripe.
• To send Service emails, such as email verification codes and deal notifications.
• To keep the Service safe: verify athletes via school email, enforce our rules, and prevent fraud.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising.

How information is shared

• Between users. When you apply to a deal or enter one, the other party sees your relevant profile information (for example, a business reviewing applicants sees an athlete's profile, photo, stats, and ratings). Athlete ratings are visible in the app.
• Service providers. We use Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Stripe (payments and payouts), Resend (email delivery), and Expo (app infrastructure and push notifications). These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
• Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Sideline or others.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. Signed NIL contracts and payment records may be retained after a deal ends as required for legal and accounting purposes. To delete your account and associated personal information, email sidelinenil@gmail.com or use the contact form in the app, and we will process the request within 30 days, except where we must retain records by law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to user data is restricted by row-level security policies, and payment credentials are handled exclusively by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor.

Age requirements

The Service is intended for users 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us at sidelinenil@gmail.com to exercise these rights.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
